The new technologies development and adoption have changed dramatically accelerating pace in recent decades. This rapid technological change affects almost every area of the economy, society, and culture. Particularly, the issue of information systems has attracted wide spread interest among researchers and practitioners.
The Journal of Information Systems (JIS) is the academic journal of the Accounting Information Systems (AIS) Section issued by the American Accounting Association (AAA), a leading accounting academic research organization in the United States. Its goals are to promote not only academic education research but also practicality in the information systems and information technology field. Especially, JIS contributes to both ongoing research direction, and practice manner in terms of accounting information systems (AIS), accounting, and auditing.
This special issue conference is aimed to encourage accounting information systems researchers around the world, especially outside the US, to submit academic papers to the Information Systems Journal. The diverse countries, regions, and unique institutional backgrounds are a good laboratory for extending deepens understanding of accounting information system research.
