What is Accreditation?
Accreditation is a voluntary, non-governmental process that includes an external review of an organization's ability to provide quality computer auditing courses and certificates. Accreditation reviews include self-evaluations, peer-reviews, committee-reviews, and the development of in-depth strategic plans.
 
Types of Accreditation
Training Center Accreditation
There are two general types of accreditation an organization can receive. The first is "Training Center" accreditation. It is an overall review of the entire organization training center for computer auditing education. These specialized reviews are done by non-governmental, private agencies that are knowledgeable about a computer auditing field of study. For example, a training center can apply for the accreditations that specifically review its ERP Audit trainging programs. Once Training Center accreditation is earned, it will be enable to issue Continuing Professional Education (CPE) training courses for the ICAEA members. The accreditation must be maintained every few years.
Certificate Accreditation
Once Training Center accreditation is earned, some organization take accreditation a step further and seek "certificate" accreditations for each of their disciplines. The accreditation specialized reviews are done by non-governmental, private agencies that are knowledgeable about a computer auditing field of certificate exams. For example, a training center can apply for the certificate accreditations that specifically review its ability to issue the exam of Certificate ERP Audit Professional (CEAP). Once the accreditation is earned, the training center will can issue the certificate examation in their site. The accreditation must be maintained every few years.
